Summer is finally here, but don't waste it!

As we enter into the summer months, it is important for us to remember that our lives do not belong to us. If you are a Christian, Christ not only created you but also bought you at the price of his own death: “For you have been bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body” (1 Cor. 6:20). God made you for His glory and bought you to glorify Him! This is the true meaning of your life. Don’t waste your life by seeking to live for yourself, for that will not bring you true fulfillment. Living to glorify God is the greatest joy you will ever experience! The same One who bought you is the same One who came to bring you abundant joy (Jn. 10:10). However, there is a cost to walk down this path of God-exalting joy. Jesus said in Matthew 16:24-25 that it will involve a denial of self, a cross of suffering, and a life commitment to Christ. In other words, it will cost you everything! As you live to glorify God, your life may be hard, your risks will be high, but your joy will be full. Glorifying God will not protect you from a wounded life; but it will guard you from a living a wasted life. We must treasure Christ above our very lives if we are to glorify God! Remember, you have one life. You were made for God. Don’t waste it!
