Looking back on March

Well, it is finally Spring Break! I know that some of you will soon be traveling and heading off for vacation land. I want you all to know that I will be praying for you all as you spend time together as families and recharge your batteries.

I wanted to let you all know what's been going on in Timberlake Student Ministries. This month we had a great time of fellowship with our S.N.A.C. activity at our house and the Wood's home, as well as the time-honored Timberlake tradition of "Underground Church." I also had the privilege of going with some of your teens on a week-long mission trip to the Bahamas, where we got to serve a youth camp in several different ways and lead a children's VBS during the week. All of the pictures of our last major activities are now posted on our Activity Pictures website, so check it out at
http://www.tsmpictures.blogspot.com/!

We have also been starting to prepare for our St. Vincent Mission trip this summer. Please be in prayer for this trip that God would begin working in our hearts now and preparing us for the ministry we will be doing down there.

During our times around the Word, we have been going through a study in the book of James on Sunday mornings and have just finished with chapter one. We have been focusing on having a faith that is active and growing, which proves that the faith we have is real! We have also been spending a great deal of time on how to deal with temptation in a Biblical way. We would love to invite your teens to come join us as we walk through the Word together.

I have also been in James through our "Chew On It" e-mail devotional as well, which will resume on Monday. Through the help and ingenuity of our teens, "Chew On It" has now made it to Facebook! Our group is called the "Chew On It TBC Group." Anyone who is in our youth group (teens and parents!) is welcome to join in and take part in this devotional journey. This group will allow us to post discussion topics as well as post on our "wall" what God has been teaching us in His Word. I truly hope that this will be a blessing to everyone as we walk with the Lord.

On Wednesdays, we have been continuing to look at the "Teenagers of the Bible." This study has taken us into the lives of Biblical characters that were faced with real struggles and real trials of faith who serve as examples and warnings to us as we seek to live godly in this present world. We will not be having Youth group Bible study this week (3/26) due to Spring Break.

As far as my family is concerned, Shannon and I will be expecting the arrival of our son on March 31st, so we do ask for your prayers for Shannon in that regard and for a safe delivery.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and for your prayers for this ministry. We count it a privilege to serve each one of you here at Timberlake and look forward to seeing how God is going to use these teenagers to impact this world for Him!

Praying for you,

Pastor Stephen
